To address such research questions, we propose a novel joint mean and correlation regression model that simultaneously regresses the mean of each response against a set of covariates and the correlations between responses against a set of similarity measures, which can be applied to a wide variety of correlated discrete and (semi-)continuous ...

May 22, 2023 UNSWs Education Focused roles (EF) enable academics to specialise in education and devote their time to delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students. Those who are appointed to this prestigious stream will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the universitys teaching and learning communities.

One possible solution to increasing variability in a model is to use a stochastic process. A variety of stochastic models have been used to describe time series of precipitation or rainfall. Since many of these stochastic models are simplistic, it is desirable to develop connections between the stochastic models and the underlying physics of rain.

We develop a new rating system for head-to-head games that explicitly acknowledges a tie as a third outcome, and that the probability of a tie may depend on the strengths of the competitors. Our approach relies on time-varying game outcomes following a Bayesian dynamic modeling framework, and that posterior updates within a time period are ...

Mar 2, 2022 It is very useful to do this course before our introductory statistics course, Introductory Statistics for Researchers using R, May 9-12. This course will be held over two half-days and will cover some basic features of R and lay the groundwork for you to improve your R skills independently.

This learning outcome will be assessed in the following items: 1. Solve problems using a variety of mathematical and statistical techniques relevant to a postgraduate business degree. Use a calculator and a spreadsheet program (Microsoft Excel) effectively to perform calculations. PLO 1: Business knowledge.
