Evidence: Cassian explicitly trusts B2EMO, as well as K-2SO, despite the fact that his only encounter with a K2 droid so far has been traumatically disastrous. I don't believe he can develop such a strong trust with a former Imperial, merely re-programmed droid so quickly, but if B2EMO is the basis for K-2SO, it would explain their strong bond.
